Leighton’s Army was born from love, heartbreak, and an unshakable determination to fight for children with disabilities and complex medical needs — and for the families who stand beside them every single day.
For far too many families, the journey is overwhelming. They are told to wait when time matters most. They are denied therapies their child needs to grow. They face impossible choices between medical equipment, treatments, or basic necessities — all while carrying the emotional weight of advocating for a child whose needs are urgent and lifelong. The systems designed to help too often fall short, leaving families to fill devastating gaps on their own.
Leighton’s Army exists because those gaps should not exist.
Our mission is to bridge what insurance won’t cover, what waitlists delay, and what families cannot shoulder alone. Through your support, Leighton’s Army helps provide access to critical therapies, adaptive and medical equipment, integrative care, and educational resources that can change the course of a child’s life. We also raise awareness, advocate for early intervention, and connect families to trusted resources so no parent feels isolated in their fight.
